Cameras:
Q: I am getting blurry picture from my RS-7622 (Manual Zoom Camera)?
A: As the Zoom & Focus for this camera are adjusted manually, you need adjust the 2 knobs underneath the camera until you get a clear picture.
Q: Are the cameras weatherproof?
A: Yes, all Rostech cameras are Weather & Dust proof But the Power Supply for the cameras/PTZs are not, therefor it is recommended to install them indoor or in a weatherproof box or housing.
Q: Do the cameras have Night Vision?
A: Yes, all Rostech cameras have IR for Night Vision. Note: Night Vision is in Black & White in all cameras systems.
Q: Night Vision is not working, can’t see picture, I am getting a black picture at night?
A: Make sure to install a small light that will be reflected from the surface around the camera to trigger the IR for the night vision on the camera. For outdoor camera, moonlight, street light or any other light will trigger the IR. Note: if the above didn’t solve the issue please contact Tech Support.
For Receiver and Transmitters:
Q: My cameras were working perfectly but they quit working after a few days of installation?
A:
1) Make sure that Both Receiver and Transmitter(s) are installed outside (Sometimes if one them is installed inside it works but for a short time).
2) Make sure the Receiver and Transmitter(s) are in clear line of sight (Nothing in between).
3) The distance between the Receiver and Transmitter(s) should be at least 300 feet up to 2 Miles. (If the distance is less than 300 feet please contact Tech Support).
4) Check Signal lights at the back of your Receiver and Transmitter(s) you should be getting 3 or 4 orange signal lights if you are getting ONLY the one on top that means the signal strength is too strong and it needs to be reduced by:
– Keep adjusting the angle of the Receiver or the transmitter slowly until you get 3 or 4 signal lights.
– Reboot all your wireless devices (Receiver & Transmitter(s)).
(If none of the above options worked, please contact Tech Support).
Q: I’m not getting 3 or 4 signal lights only the one at the Top?
A:
1) When you are getting ONLY the one on top that means the signal strength is too strong and it needs to be reduced by:
– Keep adjusting the angle of the Receiver or the transmitter slowly until you get 3 or 4 signal lights.
– Reboot all your wireless devices (Receiver & Transmitter(s).
(If the above didn’t work, please contact Tech Support).
2) The distance between the Receiver and Transmitter(s)should be at least 300 feet up to 2 Miles. (If the distance is less than 300 feet please contact Tech Support).
Q: Are the Receivers and Transmitters weatherproof?
A: Yes, they are Weather & Dust Proof, but The PoE Injectors are NOT, therefore they should be installed in a housing or a weatherproof box, (You can buy it from your local market).
Q: Can I install the Receiver and Transmitter(s) inside my shop/barn/house?
A: No, you can’t as these devices are designed to work outdoor for long distances, if installed indoor the signal between the Receiver & Transmitter(s) will be reflected from all the surfaces around them therefor they are not going to work.
(If you installed them indoor it is very possible they will work but for a short time only).
In case you want to install your cameras indoor:
Or
I have more than one receiver, can I install them close to each other?
Q: I have more than one receiver, can I install them close to each other?
A: No, you can’t the Receivers should be at least 6 feet apart from each other, otherwise there is going to be conflict between all signals.
Q: What is the transmission angle of the wireless devices?
A: It is 60 degrees Vertical.
Q: What is the status of lights on the Receiver and transmitter(s):
A:
Red:
PWR: The power light. It will work when power is ON.
Blue:
On Transmitter(s) mean the camera is getting power and connected properly to Transmitter(s).
Orange: Wireless signal strength from 1st – 4th
